In 2010 I was working for the State of California as a Parole Agent. I was assigned to a Fugitive Apprehension Team, and I was tasked with hunting down the states most wanted fugitives. At that time I thought I was in great shape. I had been an athlete all my life. Due to the demands of the job I was always making sure I was getting to the gym, lifting weights, and doing lots of running. Then one of my law enforcement buddies told me about Crossfit. It sounded interesting and so I gave it a shot.
I went to my first Crossfit workout in October of 2010 and it destroyed me! I realized I had a lot of work to do and I have been doing that work ever since, receiving my Crossfit Level I certificate in August 2011. I have competed in several competitions since starting Crossfit, including the Crossfit Open, Death by Barbell, Fight Gone Bad, and Sac Town Throw Down.
Since 2011 I have been through a lot of changes. After the birth of my son Luke in January 2013 I left law enforcement and I am now a full time mom. I did Crossfit during my entire pregnancy, continuing to work out up until the day before Luke was born. There were a lot of skeptics regarding doing Crossfit while pregnant, but I believe it helped me to have a healthy pregnancy, an easy birth, and eased with my recovery. Currently, I am three and a half months pregnant with twins and I am continuing with my Crossfit workouts modifying the workouts when necessary.
Crossfit has not only provided me with an elite level of fitness, it has introduced me to an amazing group of people whom my husband and I now consider our closest friends. The Crossfit community fosters an environment of excellence, a dedication to hard work and an all around good time. I love coaching and helping people achieve their goals. So whether you are someone who has never worked out before, a seasoned athlete, or a mom looking to get her body back, I look forward to working with you!
